Adam, the kids, and I went up to Paso Robles to visit Adam's dad and step mom, Ken and Susie. We left Friday afternoon and only hit a little traffic. This was me almost the whole way :)
We got there about 7:30 and hung out and visited.
Saturday morning was little foggy, but it didn't stop the kids from going for a ride on the quad.
After they rode around for a while on their bikes, we headed to the coast. It was a beautiful drive. It was hard to believe we were in California. We stopped to see some elephant seals.
It's so different than our beaches.
Then we went and had lunch at Ragged Point. It was gorgeous!
After lunch we headed to the bakery that Ken and Susie own. I had a brownie that was so rich and chocolatey and absolutely delish! We went back to the house and just hung out. The kids rode around on their bikes and scooters, while the 4 adults sat and talked. Ken and Susie have 15 acres of land, 8 of which they grow grapes for wine, so this was our view:
Isn't it so pretty? After we soaked in the sun {literally, it was so nice!}, we went in for dinner and hung out some more.
This morning we left about 10 and went to Solvang. We got aebleskivers, which were delish. Then we grabbed lunch and headed to a park that looked like a castle {very cool btw}. The kids {and maybe us too!} played and got some energy out before we headed home. We got home around 5 and I actually don't feel all that productive, other than being able to get this post done :)
It was a fun weekend meeting Ken and Susie and definitely fun seeing another side of California I had never seen before. We truly live in a beautiful place :)
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
